We were all hoping that 2021 would be the 20th anniversary of our 10K race which takes place in the beautiful coastal location of Lymington.
Last year saw a very swift cancellation of the event due to the virus, and gave us very little time to do anything in its place. As we all know the rest of 2020 was very challenging and we had hoped to get our much loved local event on again in May 2021.
This does not seem to be the case as we need to be able to guarantee a COVID secure event, which sadly we cannot do yet. As we have had time to think about what else we could do, we have decided to do a virtual event. We sincerely hope this will encourage people to get out (or on a treadmill) and do some exercise.
There is clear evidence that a healthy body helps create and maintain a healthy mind. We think we could all do with some of that about now. For those that know our event, they will well know that we always include a children’s element to our annual event, so we have also tried to encompass this as well in the virtual event, and there are various options for children below.
We have come up with a new exciting ribbon for the medals this year, and for those over 18 years old at the time of them running their 10K, we have had some amazing prizes donated from our supporters and sponsors.
We hope you are up for the challenge and find our virtual event motivating and as exciting as all the volunteer Crew at Lymington do. This event has been organised, as always, by the Lymington Lifeboat volunteers and all proceeds will go to the Lymington Lifeboat Station, so be assured that whilst you are benefiting from exercise you are also donating to a very worthy charitable cause.

Events for nearly all ages in any safe location between 09:00 on the 7th May 2021 and 18:00 on 9th May 2021

Our supporters have very kindly donated fifteen fabulous prizes. As this is not a race, all names who register, pay and upload a finishing time for the 10k will be uploaded into our randomiser software and fifteen names will be drawn at random.

For our sponsorship competition download a sponsorship form or go to www.virginmoneygiving.com for the chance to win an additional prize! our long term supporter Up & Running, in Southampton have donated a pair of running trainers for the individual raising the highest sponsorship amount (excluding gift aid)

GO Run for Fun is an international children’s fitness campaign, designed to inspire children to be more active through fun short-distance running events. It has been a phenomenal success with over 335,000 children taking part since it was launched in 2013.

The GO Run for Fun programme has a very simple aim – to get as many kids between the age of 5 and 10 running as possible, through well organised events. Since GO Run for Fun kicked off in Summer 2013, we have seen young runners take part in events spanning the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, USA, Mexico and Singapore – and the number of events is still growing!

In addition, GO Run For Fun and The Daily Mile has teamed up to create Mission Kids Fit For Life. The programme provides primary schools and parents with educational content to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of every child – regardless of ability or personal circumstances.
