Today we’re down on the channel islands. The sun is out in Jersey and the 2011 Standard Chartered Marathon is under way. The Marathon Relay will start shortly at 9:30 followed by the 3K Fun Run at 10:00.

A large round of applause goes out to the marathon runners in today’s heat the lead male was Jethro Lennox in an astonishing time of 2:32:05 and the lead female Shona Crombie-Hicks with an impressive time of 02:53:36.

Another successful Hinckley Half Marathon on a sunny day in Leicestershire. The winning male in a solid time of 01:10:55 was Mark Powell. The winning female Nikki Nelson completed the course in a time of 01:22:44.

The 17th annual Midlands Lung Run went ahead on a sunny Sunday morning in Sutton Coldfield Park. Winning the 10K race was Pete Lyons in a time of 00:39:15. The 5K race was won by Paul Thacker in a time of 00:18:44.
